Why I started Sharifi Legal

I became a solicitor because I believed people facing complex legal processes deserved clear, honest advice from someone who genuinely cared about the outcome — not a distant firm where files move from desk to desk and nobody quite owns the whole picture.

Immigration law has a particular human weight to it. A delayed application, a missed document, a misunderstood rule — these aren't administrative inconveniences. They have real consequences for real people: a family kept apart, a career interrupted, a life put on hold.

I set up Sharifi Legal so I could practise the way I believed was right: personally, carefully and without the overheads that push larger firms towards volume over quality.

Every client who instructs me gets my direct attention. That will not change as long as I keep practising.

I am a practising solicitor admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). My SRA registration number is 595065. You can verify my status at any time on the SRA's public register.

I hold an LLB and the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and have been in practice for 9 years.

Sharifi Legal is a trading style used by me, Marsl Sharifi, practising under the authorisation and regulation of Adam Bernard Solicitors. I hold current professional indemnity insurance as required by the SRA.

What personally handled actually means

When you instruct me, these are the things I do myself:

  1. 01. Review your circumstances

I read your documents and background notes before we speak, so our initial call is productive from the first minute.

  2. 02. Advise on your route

I explain what applies to your situation, what the Home Office will need to see, and where the risks lie. I don't sugarcoat difficulties, but I also don't catastrophize.

  3. 03. Prepare your application

Every form, covering letter and document schedule that goes to the Home Office is drafted and checked by me.

  4. 04. Keep you informed

I send updates when there is something meaningful to update. I don't leave you wondering.

  5. 05. Respond to issues

If the Home Office raises further enquiries or requests additional information, I manage that correspondence directly.

I do not delegate substantive work on your file to paralegals or unqualified staff. If I ever need to involve a colleague — for example, covering an absence — I will tell you in advance.
