Fees & Pricing
Clear, honest costs — published because transparency is the standard I hold myself to, not just an SRA requirement.
The SRA requires solicitors to publish indicative pricing for certain services. I go a step further: you should have a realistic sense of what you're likely to pay before we speak — it saves time for both of us and means our first conversation can focus on your case.
The figures below are indicative ranges. Your matter may fall within them, slightly above, or occasionally below, depending on complexity, the volume of documentation and whether complications arise (for example, a previous refusal). I will always give you a clear written estimate before any work begins.
Indicative fees
Figures are indicative starting fees and exclude VAT and Home Office application fees (disbursements). You'll receive a written estimate specific to your matter before any work begins.

Fees, Disbursements & VAT
Clear breakdown of professional fees, third-party costs, and applicable VAT.
01. Hourly-rate work
Some matters — particularly complex appeals, advisory work or cases with an uncertain scope — are handled on a time-recorded basis. My hourly rate is £250 + VAT. Where hourly-rate work is appropriate I will say so upfront and give you a realistic estimate of the likely total time. I will not run up hours without keeping you informed.
02. Disbursements
Professional fees do not include Home Office application fees, the Immigration Health Surcharge, translation costs, or other third-party charges. These vary by application type and change periodically. I will always provide a full disbursements schedule as part of your written costs estimate. Current Home Office fees are published at gov.uk.
03. VAT
VAT is charged at the current standard rate (20%) on professional fees. Home Office application fees are not subject to VAT.
This page is published in accordance with the SRA Transparency Rules. Fee ranges are indicative and based on typical cases in each category. Individual quotes may differ based on complexity. For a written costs estimate specific to your matter, please contact Marsl directly.
